ISBL CONCRETE

In December 2016 TIMIK successfully tendered the Inside Battery Limits [ISBL] Concrete Pavement Infill works.

Client: Yara Pilbara Fertilisers Pt Ltd
Location: Burrup Peninsula
Contract Value: $2m
Year Completed: December 2016
Scope of Works: Design, supply and installation of 10,000m2 of fibre reinforced concrete

This included providing an alternative tender for the infill around the existing plant, as we believed the method requested in the tender of a conventional reinforced concrete slab would be expensive and difficult to install, (due to having to manually cut the reinforcing to suit infill areas). A fibre reinforced concrete solution was offered as an alternative which was accepted. The scope of work included the following:

  • Geotechnical investigation including CBR and Plate Testing on the existing ground

  • Survey of the area and design of the pavement for an approx area of 20,000m2

  • Pavement to designed for loads of 160t Leihberr Crane

  • Installation of approx 10,000m2 of concrete

As an alternative we offered the client the following:

  • Cloud Point Survey of the entire area using a 3D laser Scanner

  • Design of 20,000m2 using fibre reinforced concrete with fibre dowels at the construction joints

The project was successfully completed within the required timeframe.
